"The classy 2016 vintage was estate grown and hand-harvested. Very fragrant, concentrated and supple with generous, ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours, well integrated oak and excellent depth and harmony."
The 2016 vintage was one of our warmest to date - an excellent start with a warm Spring for bud burst, followed by exceptional flowering and fruit set.
Aromas of warm spice, dried herbs and floral notes are followed by vibrant plum and mocha. This wine has a savoury finish of wild game and hallmark forest floor characters, and already shows well integrated, silken tannins.
Enjoy with a wide range of food, but this wine matches exceptionally well with duck, lamb and truffle dishes. A broad array of spices, including aniseed and cinnamon can be successfully paired to the wine's flavours - get creative and best of all, enjoy with good company!
Typically, our Pinot Noir peaks around 3-4 years of age, with some secondary character profiles apparent while retaining fruit vibrancy. With careful cellaring the flavours will age gracefully into more tertairy characters of leather and beef tea, around 8-10 years old.
