Coal Pit has reached a significant milestone in our journey towards regenerative farming. As of 13 April 2023, Coal Pit Vineyard is now fully organic, certified under BioGro - New Zealand's leading organic certification agency.

Anika and the team have revelled in the journey over the past few years and the rewards of their hard work are now evident.

Gary Ford at Vinewise has been invaluable, as has the expert guidance of BioGro throughout the conversion process. The benefits of organic viticulture are vast, incorporating balanced, healthier vines, better soil quality, and improved biodiversity – significant and instrumental to the production of world-class wines and the long-term care for our environment.

Rosie’s vision is for Coal Pit to be a sustainable heritage vineyard producing exceptional quality wine for many generations to come. We look forward to the continued growth and success of Coal Pit as we constantly prioritize regenerative practices.

For now, we are celebrating this milestone and the renewed energy of the vineyard. We can’t wait to share our 2023 certified organic wines with you in time!
