The Tiwha is our flagship Pinot Noir, named after Rosie's late father. A consistently high performer that complements every occasion.

Our 2019 Tiwha Pinot Noir has won the Trophy for best Pinot Noir in New Zealand at the International Wine Challenge 2023. The competition, judged out of London, is widely acknowledged as the most rigorous, impartial and influential wine competition in the world. A true honour to be awarded.

Trophy & Gold medal, IWC 2023 Trophies: NZ Pinot Noir, Otago Pinot Noir, Gibbston Pinot Noir.

True to our signature flavours, this wine has dark cherry aromatics with savoury cocoa undertones, underpinned with delicate notes of dried herbs. Structured tannins extend the length of the palate, signifying great ageability for this wine. An elegant yet powerful Pinot Noir, where depth of fruit and tannin abound, balanced with the delightful acidity that our Coal Pit site is known for.

Rosie matches this wine with a red wine braised short rib, porcini mushrooms and rosemary.

An outstanding expression…earthy robust style and delicacy. It is the classic iron fist in a velvet glove.
