Coal Pit is a family passion. We love sharing our treasured wines with friends, loved ones and our community of wine lovers. After continuous requests for a regular wine delivery service, we have created the Cellar Club. A membership service providing regular deliveries of our foundation wines and a range of other unique membership privileges.

As a member, you'll be given a personalised 15% saving across our entire wine range, priority access to pre-release and extremely limited vintages along with complimentary invitations to private events at the winery. It's an invite to connect with our family and team, explore our organic vineyard and enjoy our wines with great company. We created this club so that we can share our passion with you. About

Elegant and refined, the foundation Tiwha instantly captivates with a rich perfume of black forest, wet earth, exotic anise seed, fragrant wild roses, with a savoury hint of wild thyme, green olives, and dusted cocoa. Delicate, yet well structured tannin is supported by an oak finesse, framing the brambled palate.

Sweet yet savoury notes of black currant and dark black cherry are well balanced with a brickish minerality that flows through to finish the wine. Evolution from time in the glass is rewarded.

Typically some secondary character profiles will evolve after 3-4 years, while retaining fruit vibrancy. With careful cellaring, flavours will age gracefully into more tertiary and complex characters, around 8-10 years old.

Enjoy with a wide range of food, however this wine matches exceptionally well with game, mushroom and truffle dishes. A broad array of spices can be successfully paired to the wine’s flavours – get creative and best of all, enjoy with good company.

The iconic label is the work of Chris Heaphy, famed New Zealand artist and creator of all the Coal Pit labels.

About

This elegant Provence-style Rosé is dry and palest shell-pink, rose quartz in colour. Fragrant aromas of fresh strawberries, white peach, and cherry blossom are intertwined with hibiscus and rose water revealing an intriguing and savoury edge.

Flavours of crushed wild berries and summer citrus envelop a delicate crushed schist minerality that pays homage to the influence of terroir. The elegance of this light-bodied style Rosé is well balanced with complex textural layers that add palate weight. Subtle end notes of brioche and hot cross buns bring a decadent depth to the finish of this beautiful wine.

The Huia feather label embodies Chris Heaphy’s recent works, with a Toitoi or South Island Tomtit bird depicted on the back. A refined and versatile wine with or without food; the perfect accompaniment to a leisurely afternoon in the sun.
