Last month, we had the pleasure of hosting our Coal Pit friends and family for our inaugural Native Planting Day in the vineyard. We take great pride in our commitment to sustainability and guardianship of our land, with a longterm vision for many generations to come.

We were thrilled to host our first annual native planting day with our small winery team, including Rosie, Hugo, Anika, Kate and Selina. Working closely with Neill and Barb and the Whakatipu Reforestation Trust, our mission is to plant native trees on-site each year. We were touched by the incredible turnout and support from our Coal Pit friends and family over the two days of planting. Together, we planted a total of 400 native trees.

After a morning of honest graft, we all gathered around to share a glass of our 2022 Coal Pit Rosé, and a beautiful lunch spread including whitebait fritters - caught and homemade by Rosie! It was a rewarding day spent in nature; filled with laughter, good company, and a shared love for our land and environment.

We look forward to welcoming our friends and family back to our vineyard for many years to come.
